Frequently Asked Question
The Aziz Supercomputer is accessible to members of King Abdul Aziz University. To gain access, please visit the CEHPC website (hpc.kau.edu.sa) and click on the "Request Form for Aziz Account" tab. Complete the application form and attach the required documents as specified. Ensure you use your official email address for filling out the form and for all communications with the center. Your request will be reviewed during support hours and addressed accordingly, with email notifications sent to you as the request progresses. Once approved, you will receive an email from the center containing your login credentials and the Aziz user manual.
Here are a few important points to consider while filling out the application form:
Please select your correct academic role and provide the full names of your college and department, as shown in the image below.
Please provide your correct KAU ID (a 7-digit number) and your Research Field/Topic, as shown in the image below.
Please follow the steps below to download the required official KAU document:
a. For KAU Students: Steps to download enrollment certificate (إفادة) from ODUS system:
- Login to the portal web-link
with your KAU ID and Password. - click on the student
- student testimonial
- select current semester
- press the submit button
- save the PDF (enrollment certificate (إفادة)).
b. For KAU Academic staff, researcher, they must attach the HR letter from Anjez.

Organizational Approval
The application for the Aziz Supercomputer must be approved by an authorized individual in your faculty/college, such as a supervisor, department head, faculty dean, or centre director. Please provide the full name and official KAU email address of the approver, as an automated approval email will be sent to them. Ensure the designated approver is aware of this requirement, as their approval is necessary for the application to proceed.
d. Applicants can check their application status as it progresses through the approval cycle. Once approved, you will receive an email containing your Aziz Supercomputer account details, including your username and password.
Account Access and Renewal:
All Aziz Supercomputer accounts are valid for one year. To ensure continued access, please follow these steps to renew your account:
- Obtain Your KAU Enrolment Letter: Make sure you have the most recent enrolment letter from KAU.
- Prepare Your Submission: Ensure that your enrolment letter is up-to-date and clearly states your current enrolment status.
- Submit Your Renewal Request:
- Sent your updated KAU enrolment letter to CEHPC centre official email hpc@kau.edu.sa.
- Confirmation: Once your submission is processed, you will receive confirmation email of your account renewal.
Mandatory HPC Orientation Session:
Attention new users of the Aziz Supercomputer:
As per the CEHPC Center policy, all new users are required to attend a mandatory orientation session. This session is designed to provide you with the essential knowledge needed to work effectively with the system.
Important Details:
- Attendance Requirement: Participation in the orientation session is crucial for activating your Aziz account.
- Activation: Your account will be activated only upon successful completion of the orientation.
User Responsibilities for Acknowledgment and Documentation:
Users are required to provide the following information:
- Acknowledgment Statement: When publishing research or writing a thesis that utilizes the resources of the Aziz Supercomputer, users must include an acknowledgment statement recognizing the centre's contribution. The acknowledgment should read: "This research was conducted using the Aziz Supercomputer at King Abdul Aziz University."
- Submission of Documentation: Users should submit a copy of their thesis or publication that includes the acknowledgment statement to the centre. This helps ensure proper credit is given and allows us to track the impact of our resources.
